The owner’s spouse and children up to 24 years old are also eligible for the residence permit which is renewable yearly. As long as a foreign investor owns a luxury property within an IRS, the residence permit remains valid. Upon selling the residence, the permit is transferred to the new owner if non-Mauritian. In order to carry any professional activity in Mauritius, foreigners have to apply for a work or investor permit to the relevant authorities.
